1 Using Your Built-In File Manager

Most Android phones (Samsung, Google Pixel, etc.) can do this natively.

1

Open your file manager app

On Samsung, it's called "My Files." On Google Pixel, it's "Files." Other brands may call it "File Manager" or "Files." Find it in your app drawer.

2

Navigate to the ZIP file

Usually in the Downloads folder. Tap "Internal storage""Download" (or check your recent files).

3

Tap the ZIP file

Your file manager will show the contents. Tap "Extract" or "Extract All." Choose a destination (or use the default) and tap OK.

4

Enter password if prompted

If the ZIP is encrypted, you'll be asked for the password. Type or paste it and tap OK.

2 Using ZArchiver (Free App)

Best free option if your built-in file manager can't handle it.

ZArchiver is the most popular and trusted archive app on Android. It handles ZIP, RAR, 7z, TAR, GZ, and dozens of other formats — all for free with no ads.

1

Install ZArchiver from Google Play

Search "ZArchiver" in the Play Store. It's free.

2

Open ZArchiver and navigate to your file

Browse to your Downloads folder (or wherever the archive is saved).

3

Tap the archive file

Choose "Extract here", "Extract to ./", or "Extract to [folder name]".

4

Enter password if needed

Type the password and tap OK. Your files will be extracted.

ZArchiver also creates archives. If you need to send a ZIP from your Android phone, ZArchiver can create encrypted ZIP files too. Long-press files → "Compress" → set password.
